First Generation Dodge Sprinter

The first generation Dodge Sprinter was introduced in 2003, and continued until 2006. Earlier Sprinter was sold as Mercedes Sprinter only to commercial users.

It was available in three configurations –

• Dodge Sprinter 1500
• Dodge Sprinter 2500
• Dodge Sprinter 3500

There were choices of two wheelbases, and these vans were powered by 2.7-liter turbodiesel five-cylinder engine, which churned out 154 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque, in sync with 5-speed automatic transmission.

Second Generation Dodge Sprinter

The second gen Dodge Sprinter was launched in 2007, and continued until 2009 as a cargo cum passenger van.
Only Dodge Sprinter 2500 version was available as passenger van, while cargo vans were marketed in 3500 and 2500 versions.

2009 Dodge Sprinter

2009 Dodge Sprinter was equipped with 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 engine that churned out 154 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, while the optional 3.5-liter gasoline V6 engine delivered 254 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. Five-speed automatic transmission was standard across the board.
